Accord Members Send Warning To Adeleke
Political stakeholders within the Accord Party in Osun State have cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke over reports that automatic tickets may be given to sitting federal lawmakers ahead of future elections.
The group, made up of party figures and grassroots mobilisers, raised the concern in a statement released in Osogbo and signed by Adekunle Gabriel on behalf of the coalition.
They said while party unity is important, fairness and open participation remain key to building a strong political structure.
According to the stakeholders, granting automatic tickets could discourage other aspirants who have spent time and resources engaging with communities and mobilising supporters across the state.
They warned that when political contests appear unfair, party morale often drops and opposition groups may benefit from the resulting dissatisfaction among members.
The coalition also noted that voters in Osun are politically aware and sensitive to issues of exclusion, urging the governor and party leaders to protect transparency and allow credible competition within the party.
