Obi, Atiku, Kwankwaso Don’t Stand A Chance In 2027 – ACF Spokesman

The National Publicity Secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Prof. Tukur Mohammed-Baba, has raised concerns over Nigeria’s political direction ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He spoke during an interview on Arise Television on Monday, where he reviewed major political figures and voter sentiment in the North.

He said President Bola Tinubu has lost a large share of support in northern Nigeria since the 2023 election, pointing to worsening economic conditions and rising insecurity.

He noted that many citizens feel the impact of government policies has not matched expectations since the last election cycle.

Mohammed-Baba also questioned the readiness of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

He said none of them has presented a clear policy direction strong enough to offer Nigerians a convincing alternative at the national level.

He added that voters in the North are becoming more concerned about insecurity, rising fuel costs, and social challenges such as the growing number of out-of-school children.

He also warned political actors against complacency, noting that the region’s voting behaviour in 2027 will depend on performance and not party loyalty.
