Wike Free To Join Party – Yilwatda
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is free to join the party but will not be pressured.
He made the remark during a media chat on Wednesday night, stressing that party membership is voluntary.
He explained that the APC does not force anyone into its ranks, noting that individuals decide on their own whether to align with the party.
According to him, there is no condition tying political appointments to party membership under the current administration.
Yilwatda also dismissed claims that serving in the government of Bola Ahmed Tinubu requires joining the APC.
He said some appointees had previously criticised the president but were still given roles based on their ability to contribute.
He added that the president’s leadership style allows room for diverse views, including critics.
The party, he said, remains open to anyone willing to join, while maintaining that participation is based on choice rather than pressure.
