The incident occurred during touchdown, prompting immediate safety checks on the aircraft. The airline said the decision was taken to protect passengers and comply with aviation regulations.

After the aircraft landed safely, engineers and safety officials carried out an initial inspection.

Their findings showed that additional examinations were needed on the landing gear before the aircraft could return to service. As a result, the plane was grounded and the Lagos-bound flight was cancelled.

The airline explained that bird strikes can affect critical aircraft systems and require detailed inspections before operations can resume.

Technical teams are now conducting further assessments to determine the aircraft’s condition and ensure it meets all safety requirements.

To reduce the inconvenience caused by the disruption, Air Peace arranged hotel accommodation for affected passengers and began making alternative travel arrangements.

The airline apologised for the cancellation and assured travellers that safety remains its top priority while updates on new flight schedules will be communicated directly.
