PFN Denies RCCG Involvement in National Prayer Event

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has dismissed reports linking the Redeemed Christian Church of God and its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, to a recent nationwide prayer programme.

The group said the event was fully organised by PFN leadership. It also described the claims as false and misleading.

The clarification was issued by PFN National Secretary Bishop David Bakare, who explained that the programme was designed and coordinated by the fellowship.

He said the decision followed a National Executive Council meeting held on May 19 2026. The meeting focused on rising security and economic challenges in the country.

Bakare said churches that took part, including RCCG, only followed PFN directives as members of the fellowship.

He added that the final day of the prayer programme coincided with Pentecost Sunday. He also noted that planned street processions were cancelled due to security concerns.

The PFN warned against spreading false stories about religious leaders and urged the public to verify information before sharing.

It restated its commitment to prayer, unity and national development while calling for responsible public communication and respect for church leaders.
