Tinubu Should Not Be Blamed For Insecurity – Umahi
Minister of Works David Umahi has urged Nigerians to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu for the country’s security challenges.
He said the level of insecurity being experienced did not begin under the current administration. His remarks came during a public engagement where he addressed national issues.
Umahi explained that insecurity has been a long-standing problem in Nigeria and should not be linked solely to one government.
He said the situation has evolved over time and has affected different administrations before Tinubu came into office.
He added that discussions around insecurity should take into account its historical roots rather than focusing only on present leadership.
According to him, the country has faced waves of violence, banditry and terrorism across several years, making it a complex issue.
The minister called for more support for government efforts aimed at improving security.
He maintained that constructive engagement and unity are needed to address the challenges rather than public criticism directed at the president.
