According to the embassy, anyone found lying or submitting forged documents during the visa process risks being permanently barred under US immigration laws.

The advisory followed a recent meeting between US Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, and Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, where both countries discussed bilateral relations.

The embassy explained that the visa process depends on honesty and proper documentation, stressing that fraud damages trust and closes doors permanently.

It added that the United States remains committed to working with Nigeria on shared interests, while urging applicants to follow the rules to avoid severe consequences.
