In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, and made available to journalists, the PDP described the list as fake, alleging that it was circulated to mislead party members and supporters.

The party maintained that Dankwambo, who is its senatorial candidate for Gombe North, was unaware of the purported appointment. It described him as a prominent figure in the party at both state and national levels.

The PDP accused the ruling APC of spreading misleading information to create confusion and distrust within the opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party also criticised individuals it accused of posing as concerned citizens while working against the opposition.

It urged its stakeholders, members, supporters and well-wishers to disregard the circulating list and social media images linking Dankwambo to the APC campaign advisory council.

The PDP further called on the APC to stop what it described as a campaign of falsehood and concentrate on explaining its policies and political agenda to voters.

According to the statement, the people of Gombe State were capable of making informed political choices and should be allowed to assess parties based on their policies rather than what the PDP described as misleading claims.
