Dangote Petroleum Refinery says it is still operating and has not shut down, countering claims making the rounds about a halt in production at the facility.

The company made this known after reports suggested the refinery had stopped work, insisting the claims were false and did not reflect what is happening on ground.

According to the refinery, it is currently supplying between 40 and 50 million litres of petrol daily, depending on market demand, with production continuing steadily through January and February.
It disclosed that on January 4 alone, it produced 50 million litres of petrol and evacuated 48 million litres, adding that existing stock can meet Nigeria’s fuel needs for more than 20 days.

The refinery explained that while routine maintenance is ongoing on some units, core operations remain active, with petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel still being produced without disruption.
Dangote Refinery urged Nigerians to ignore unverified reports, noting that it continues to sell petrol at N699 per litre and remains focused on steady supply, stable pricing, and supporting the country’s energy needs.
