Your Failures Will Send You Packing in 2027, Atiku Tells Tinubu

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, has warned President Bola Tinubu that Nigerians will vote him out of office in 2027 over what he described as his administration’s failure to tackle the country’s economic and security challenges.

Atiku urged Tinubu to defend his performance in office rather than question how he financed his investment in the American University of Nigeria, Yola.

The former Vice-President made the remarks in a statement issued on Saturday by his media aide, Phrank Shaibu, following Tinubu’s comments about the funding of the university while Atiku was in office.

He explained that his investment in the American University of Nigeria and ABTI Academy began before he became Vice-President in 1999, adding that the foundation of the institution was laid in 1993.

Atiku maintained that the university was a long-term private investment and rejected suggestions that it was established with funds he earned while serving in government.

He challenged Tinubu to account for his administration’s performance, accusing it of worsening poverty, insecurity, unemployment and the rising cost of living.

“Your failures will send you packing in 2027. Rather than attacking my investment in education, you should tell Nigerians what you have done to improve their lives,” he said.

Atiku urged the President to address public concerns about the country’s condition instead of making his private investment the subject of political attacks.
