The lawmaker representing Sagbama Constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Oyinke Godbless, welcomed the new members and said Angalabiri had resolved to align with the NDC and support its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Godbless assured the defectors of a warm reception, declaring that the community was now firmly behind the party.

Dickson, a former two-term governor of Bayelsa State, urged residents to remain united and work with community leaders to ensure peaceful and credible elections.

He cautioned against political activities capable of creating divisions, generating tension or disrupting the community’s peace.

The senator also encouraged all eligible voters to participate in the electoral process and defend the principle of one person, one vote.

He urged residents to reject electoral violence, intimidation and malpractice, regardless of those responsible.

Meanwhile, the NDC recorded further defections on Saturday as APC members from Isampou and Ogrigbene communities in Ekeremor Local Government Area also announced their decision to join the party.
