Former President Goodluck Jonathan has alerted Nigerians to a fake Instagram account allegedly operating in his name.

His office said the account is not linked to him and should not be trusted by members of the public.

The warning followed the growing visibility of an Instagram page using the handle @goodluck_ebelejonathan.

According to his media team, the former president does not own or operate any personal Instagram account.
His office explained that the page has repeatedly changed its identity, sometimes presenting itself as a fan account while at other times posing as the former president.
The account was accused of misleading followers through impersonation.
The former president’s media aide said the account’s username had been altered several times and urged the platform’s operators to take action.
Nigerians were advised to ignore any content or messages coming from the account.
