The exercise will be carried out nationwide, with all states expected to take part as part of the commission’s early groundwork for the election.

It is designed to ensure that voter records are current and reflect accurate information before the polls.

According to a letter signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony, Resident Electoral Commissioners have been directed to begin preparations.

This includes arranging personnel and getting the INEC Voter Enrolment Devices ready for deployment during the exercise.

The revalidation is expected to allow voters to confirm and update their details where necessary.

The commission is also working to ensure a smooth process that will support credible elections in 2027.
