Party Planning To Sponsor Protest Against Us – ADC
The African Democratic Congress has accused the All Progressives Congress of planning to sponsor a protest in Abuja aimed at tarnishing its leadership.
The claim was made in a statement released on Wednesday by its publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.
The party said the alleged move follows recent political shifts, including the defection of Rabiu Kwankwaso.
It claimed earlier attempts were made to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission into taking actions against it, but those efforts failed.
According to the statement titled “APC’s Desperate Plan Uncovered,” the planned protest in Abuja is expected to feature a crowd presented as aggrieved members calling for the removal of David Mark from the party’s leadership.
The ADC alleged that the protest is being backed by a government official.
The party warned that the development is part of a wider attempt to destabilise its structure but said it would remain peaceful and resist any unlawful interference.
It also urged Bola Tinubu to step in if those involved are acting under his administration.
