Why APC Delayed Ibadan Gathering
The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has postponed its planned mega open-air stakeholders’ meeting in Ibadan, which was scheduled for Tuesday.
The party said the decision was taken to allow for broader consultations and more detailed planning.
In a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, APC Publicity Secretary Olawale Sadare said a new date would be announced soon.
He explained that the meeting was meant to build on recent intra-party rallies held across the 14 federal constituencies in the state and deepen internal unity.
Sadare said the meeting would also serve as a platform to welcome prominent figures defecting from other parties and to mobilise support ahead of the 2027 elections.
“So, we want to set out early enough and ensure that all hands are on deck to run a hitch-free and fruitful electioneering, as we are poised to return Mr President and also reclaim power in Oyo State in 2027,” he said.
