Nigeria’s Ebola index patient has reportedly been evacuated abroad for medical treatment aboard an air ambulance.

The evacuation reportedly took place early Monday morning through the private jet section of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, sources told the news outlet.

According to the report, a convoy of three vehicles, including ambulances and diplomatic vehicles, arrived at the airport’s private wing ahead of the evacuation.

Airport officials reportedly cordoned off the area, while ARISE News said it later obtained video footage showing a medical evacuation aircraft preparing to transport the patient.
The report identified the patient as a woman said to be the wife of a Swiss diplomat in Nigeria.
However, the Federal Government had yet to issue an official statement confirming the reported evacuation at the time of publication.
The circumstances surrounding the transfer, including the destination and the patient’s condition, were not disclosed in the report.
