APC Accuses Atiku, ADC of Plot to Discredit Tinubu Ahead of Kaduna Rally

According to the statement, the alleged campaign targeted Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and other APC leaders ahead of the rally scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The council claimed that the alleged operation began with the circulation of a photograph showing a security vehicle on routine patrol near an APC campaign billboard in Kaduna metropolis. It accused Atiku and the ADC of misrepresenting the incident as evidence that security personnel had been deployed to protect the party’s billboards.

The APC further alleged that a national newspaper published a distorted account of the incident, which Atiku subsequently shared on his official social media platforms to attract public attention.

The council also accused the former vice president and the ADC of circulating a purported letter from Governor Uba Sani to the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari. The alleged letter claimed that the Kaduna State Government had released ₦2.3 trillion to host the rally.

Describing the figure as false, the council argued that the alleged expenditure was inconsistent with the state’s annual budgets. It cited Kaduna State’s budgets of ₦458.271 billion for 2024, ₦790.439 billion for 2025 and ₦985.9 billion for 2026, claiming that their combined value remained below ₦2.3 trillion.

The APC also alleged that old, doctored and deepfake videos could be circulated during the rally to create the impression that residents were opposed to the party and its leadership.

The council said it was alerting Nigerians to what it described as a planned disinformation campaign and urged the public to remain vigilant.

It also criticised Atiku and the ADC, alleging that they were prepared to use various tactics in their pursuit of political power.
