OAU Students Block Road Over Protest
Students of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife on Tuesday shut down the busy Ife–Ede road, protesting poor transport conditions on campus.
The action caused heavy traffic and disrupted movement around the area.
The protest followed complaints of limited vehicles and long waiting times for students trying to move within and outside the campus.
Many said the situation has worsened in recent weeks, affecting daily activities.
Witnesses reported that the students gathered early in the morning, blocking the road and demanding quick action from school authorities.
The demonstration drew attention from commuters and residents who were caught in the gridlock.
Calls have grown for the university management to fix the transport system and ease movement for students.
Authorities are yet to issue a full response as tension lingers around the campus.
