Wike Impersonators Arrested Over Land Scam
Police have arrested four men for allegedly posing as associates of Nyesom Wike to defraud victims of over N150 million.
The arrest followed a case involving a retired military officer who was tricked into a fake land deal in Abuja. Investigations show the suspects used false claims of government links to gain trust.
The main suspect, Yashim Kajang, was picked up on March 24, 2026, after allegedly collecting huge sums from victims.
He reportedly convinced them he could secure land documents in Guzape II. The land in question included Plot 1985, said to measure about three hectares.
During questioning, Kajang named three others as part of the scheme. They were said to have provided insider information on land details used in the fraud.
The suspects allegedly worked together to make the deal appear real and convincing.
All four men are now in custody as police continue their investigation. Authorities say more victims may come forward as the case unfolds.
