APC Plots Comeback In Abia
The senator representing Abia North in the National Assembly, Orji Uzor Kalu, says the All Progressives Congress in Abia State is now more united and preparing to win both the presidential and governorship elections in 2027.
He spoke in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area, during a meeting of members of the Reality Organisation, the OUK Movement and APC supporters from across the state.
Kalu explained that the party leadership worked together during the recent congress in the state.
Although he was not present at the event, he said he agreed with the decisions taken and confirmed that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, handled the process on behalf of the party.
The former Abia governor said the party plans to deliver strong support for President Bola Tinubu in the next election.
According to him, the outcome recorded in the state during the 2023 election will not repeat itself as party members are determined to work together and secure victory for the president, the governorship candidate and the three senatorial seats.
Party leaders and supporters at the meeting also pledged loyalty to the party ahead of the next election cycle. Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, praised Kalu’s leadership, while Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu announced his intention to contest the governorship race and urged party members to obtain their voter cards before the election.
