The family of Nigerian gospel singer and minister Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye, known as Omije Ojumi, has confirmed her death after an illness.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
She passed away at a hospital in Lagos, where she had been receiving treatment. The family did not disclose the exact nature of the illness.
Omije Ojumi was widely known in the gospel music space for her emotional worship style and deep spiritual songs that touched many listeners across Nigeria and beyond.
Concerns about her health became public in October 2025 after videos showed her weak during a church programme, unable to speak clearly and responding mainly with tears, which alarmed fans and fellow ministers.
Following the videos, prayers and support poured in from across the country, reflecting the strong impact her ministry and music had on the gospel community and her followers.
