The Federal Government has ordered federal hospitals to stop paying salaries to members of JOHESU who have been on strike since November 14 2025.

The directive targets health workers under the Joint Health Sector Unions and any other group that may down tools.
The order was issued by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and signed on January 8 2026.

The ministry warned that hospital heads must give regular updates on how the strike is affecting operations. The policy is set to take effect from January 2026 as the government moves to reduce disruption in healthcare delivery nationwide.
