Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Limited, has formally petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged corruption by Farouk Ahmed, former CEO of the Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The petition was filed after it was withdrawn from the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to fast-track the investigation.
The complaint calls for EFCC to investigate claims of abuse of office and illicit enrichment by Ahmed. Dangote’s legal team cited the commission’s capacity to prosecute financial crimes and urged swift action if evidence confirms wrongdoing.
