The decision was announced by the state government after the bill scaled legislative review and received assent, setting Ekiti apart in the rollout of the national tax framework.
The signing took place in Ado Ekiti, with officials saying the law brings state tax processes in line with the federal system while keeping local needs in view.
The move is aimed at creating a clear and unified tax structure, reducing confusion for taxpayers, and improving revenue collection without adding new burdens.
