Under the new plan, corps members will now be trained in areas such as artificial intelligence and mobile application development. These are added to existing vocational and business skills already offered.

The overhaul will take place across NYSC camps and training centres in the country. The aim is to ensure uniform training standards and equal access to modern skills.

NYSC said the change became necessary to make the programme more practical and impactful. It also seeks to help young graduates become more self-reliant after service.

The revamped curriculum will be delivered through a standard system to deepen learning and improve outcomes. The agency believes the new focus will better equip corps members for employment and entrepreneurship in a fast-changing economy.
