Nyesom Wike marked his 58th birthday in Abuja by restating his open support for President Bola Tinubu, saying he has no regrets about the choice he made in 2022.

Wike explained that his backing of Tinubu was based on his belief in fairness and justice, especially the need for power to move to the South. He recalled that he stood alone among top opposition figures at the time in openly supporting Tinubu.
He also pointed to the 2023 elections in Rivers State as proof of his leadership strength. Under his watch, the APC won the presidential vote, while the PDP secured victories in the governorship, National Assembly, state assembly, and local government polls.
The celebration drew political leaders from different parties, including lawmakers, state assembly members, council chairmen, and long-time allies. Many praised Wike for his firm style and wide influence, pledging continued loyalty and support.
In his response, Wike thanked his supporters for standing with him over the years. He said criticism and attacks do not distract him, adding that they only push him to stay focused as he works with allies for the good of Rivers State and the country.
