Osun APC Youth Leaders Deny Signing Zoning Deal, Allege Forgery

Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from five local government areas in Osun State have accused party members of forging their signatures in a publication calling for the 2026 governorship ticket to be zoned to Osun West Senatorial District.

The youth leaders from Olaoluwa, Isokan, Ede North, Ede South, and Ayedire LGAs protested in Osogbo, saying they never agreed to any zoning arrangement.

One of the leaders, Alimi Akande Bakare, said claims that all youth leaders in Osun West met in Iwo to endorse zoning were false. He insisted that many signatures in the document were forged and urged the party to prioritise competence over zoning in selecting its next candidate.

Another youth leader, Amos Adediran from Olaoluwa, described the publication as misleading, saying the APC should choose its governorship flagbearer based on merit, not geography. Others, including Raji Rafiu and Idris Aderigbigbe from Isokan, also denied attending any such meeting, saying their names were used without consent.

However, Osun West Senatorial youth leader, Imran Mojeed, dismissed the forgery claims. He said the group only informed party leaders that Osun West had qualified aspirants and insisted that the meeting was properly documented, with a video to prove it.

The controversy adds to rising internal tension in the Osun APC ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
