Lagos APC Says Tinubu’s Record Unbeatable In 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed the idea that ethnic politics can stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, insisting that the next general elections will be shaped by performance and results rather than tribal or sentimental campaigns.

The party’s spokesman, Seye Oladejo, made the statement in response to remarks by journalist and politician Dele Momodu, who had urged the opposition to adopt ethnic-based strategies to challenge Tinubu’s dominance. Momodu had also admitted that neither former President Goodluck Jonathan nor former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi could defeat Tinubu in the next election.

Oladejo, however, said Momodu lacks the credibility to offer political advice, describing him as a “serial political wanderer” who has drifted from one camp to another without making any real impact. He said Momodu’s political career has been filled with failed ventures and rhetorical speeches that never translate into results.

He questioned Momodu’s experience, saying his previous presidential ambition was so insignificant that his name barely registered on election results. Oladejo added that Momodu’s political influence remains limited to social media platforms, where online engagement rarely translates into votes or meaningful mobilization.

The Lagos APC spokesman said the coming election would not be decided by tribal sentiments but by visible achievements. He maintained that Nigerians have become more aware and now judge leaders by their records in office, not by emotional appeals or ethnic rhetoric.

Oladejo said President Tinubu’s track record, both as Lagos State governor and as president, has set a strong foundation for national progress. He argued that his administration’s policies in infrastructure, economic reforms, and governance have already distinguished him from his rivals.

He concluded that those seeking to use ethnic divisions as a political strategy are only exposing their lack of substance and ideas. According to him, the APC is confident that Tinubu’s record of competence and leadership will speak louder than political propaganda when Nigerians go to the polls in 2027.
