Ibom Air, a Nigerian airline owned by Akwa Ibom State has announced it will add daily flights from Lagos and Abuja to Enugu.

The airline announced the new addition Friday on its Twitter handle, saying customers should keep tabs for schedules and opening of bookings.

“NEXT STOP: Enugu! From Sept. 14, Ibom Air will be flying to Enugu from Lagos and Abuja daily. Akanu Ibiam International Airport, here we come! Stay tuned for schedules and opening of booking,” Ibom Air tweeted.

Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel on Friday also announced the news on his social media, writing:

Some days ago, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had said that the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, was ready for resumption of flights. And on Sunday, August 30, the international airport was reopened for flights.
Meanwhile, Ibom Air began operations on June 7, 2019, when a Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft took off from the Victor Attah International Airport with government officials on board, en route to Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
As of this writing, the airline has a fleet of five Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft.
