Edo Election: Court grants ex-parte motion for disqualification suit against APC, Ize-Iyamu

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted an ex-parte motion for substituted service on the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State.

A Chieftain of the APC, Barr. Charles Ude had dragged his party and its gubernatorial candidate before the court in a suit no FHC/ABJ/CS/839/2020. Ude is seeking the disqualification of Mr. Ize-Iyamu as the candidate of the APC in the Edo election. He maintains that the party did not conduct a legally recognised primaries to choose its candidate.

During the commencement of hearing, neither the APC nor its candidate made an appearance. This prompted the plaintiff to file for an ex-parte to serve the defendants through substituted means, a prayer which Justice Taiwo Taiwo granted.

The hearing of the matter is billed for September 1, during which the court is expected to give a ruling on the disqualification suit.

The defendants in the suit include the APC, Mr Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Adams Oshiomhole, Victor Giadom and Hillard Etta.

    That Serves Ize Iyamu & Oshiomhole right since they have decided to always be running away from the Court as if they can run away from the law forever. September 1st would be a decisive day and they will both go down and lose the case woefully. I already foresee victory for Obaseki ahead because “GOD MUST WIN”
