The six commissioners-designate are Lucky Barau from Gurara Local Government Area, Isah Wakili from Bosso, Isah Adamu from Kontagora, Emmanuel Alamu from Magama, Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji from Mashegu and Mohammed Danladi Garba from Borgu.

Their appointments are subject to screening and confirmation by the Niger State House of Assembly, in line with the relevant provisions of the law.

In addition to the commissioner nominees, Bago appointed Nma Kolo as his Chief Political Adviser.

Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were also appointed Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.

The state government said the appointments were intended to strengthen the administration, improve service delivery and provide wider representation for people across the state.

The commissioners-designate are expected to appear before the House of Assembly for screening before their confirmation and subsequent assumption of office.

The appointments bring representatives from six local government areas into the proposed commissioner cadre, while the political appointments are expected to support the governor’s administration in political coordination across the three senatorial zones.
