Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared winner after securing 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes.
Reacting to the result, Oyebamiji thanked APC leaders, members, supporters and campaign volunteers across the state for their commitment throughout the election.
He said although his campaign had hoped for a different result, he accepted INEC’s position and backed the APC’s ongoing review of the election outcome.
Oyebamiji said the conclusion of the election would not end his commitment to the issues and policies presented during his campaign.
He maintained that he would continue working towards effective, inclusive and rapid development in Osun State.
The APC candidate also appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful and continue contributing positively to their communities despite the election result.
However, Oyebamiji raised concerns over alleged attacks and hostility directed at APC members and supporters following the election.
He said the situation had worsened in the 24 hours preceding his statement and called on the Osun State Government, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to intervene.
The former commissioner urged his supporters to remain calm and avoid actions that could further increase tension in the state.
Oyebamiji expressed appreciation to voters who supported his candidacy and said he remained proud of the campaign conducted by his team.
He also assured his supporters that the values and issues that shaped his campaign would remain part of his continued efforts to contribute to the development of Osun State.
