Dr. Samuel Tsebe, a commissioner with the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Tsebe, a former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Akwanga South Constituency, announced his resignation on Monday in Akwanga.

The former lawmaker said he left the APC to pursue his political ambitions and contribute to the development of his community and the country.
He said his resignation letter was submitted to the APC chairman of his ward, Akwanga West Electoral Ward, and took effect immediately.
Tsebe described his decision as a personal one, saying it was driven by his desire to seek new political opportunities and continue serving the people.
The NASIEC commissioner also thanked the APC and its leaders for the opportunities he received while serving in different positions within the party.
Following his exit from the APC, Tsebe declared his support for the SDP and expressed optimism that the party would perform strongly in the 2027 general elections.
