Tinubu Intensifies Rescue Operations For Abducted Children

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue children abducted in different parts of the country.

In his 2026 Children’s Day message, the President said the government has not abandoned children and teachers still in captivity in states such as Oyo and Borno.

He said rescue missions are ongoing across affected communities.

The President spoke during the Children’s Day celebration built around the theme “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child.”

He admitted that many families could not fully celebrate because their children remain missing.

Tinubu said the pain felt by parents and communities remains a national concern that his administration is determined to address.

To tackle the crisis, Tinubu ordered security agencies to strengthen intelligence-based rescue operations and improve protection around schools in high-risk areas.

He directed authorities to tighten coordination between schools, local communities and security formations.

The government also plans to strengthen early warning systems and emergency response structures in vulnerable areas.

Tinubu said rescued children would receive counselling, medical care, education support and rehabilitation after returning home.

He also urged parents, community leaders, transport unions and vigilante groups to support efforts aimed at protecting children.

According to him, the government remains committed to building a safer future where every Nigerian child can learn and grow without fear.
