The notice said organisers were calling for a nationwide shutdown in all nine provinces, urging citizens to push for action against foreigners.

Reports indicate the groups want both documented and undocumented foreigners to leave the country, with marches planned to press their demands.

Authorities expect disruptions in major cities including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, and Durban.

In Johannesburg, protesters are expected to gather at Mary Fitzgerald Square, with activities scheduled between morning hours and midday.

Nigerians were advised to stay alert, avoid protest areas and refrain from engaging demonstrators.

Business owners were also urged to take precautions, including possible temporary closure, as security agencies in South Africa have been notified to protect foreign nationals and their properties.
