He spoke during a podcast interview where he urged leaders to focus on restoring peace rather than engaging in political calculations ahead of future elections.
Obi said Nigeria must confront armed groups threatening lives and communities with determination, adding that leadership requires courage and a willingness to put the nation first.
He argued that the government should take firm steps to prevent criminal elements from gaining ground over state institutions.
The former Anambra State governor also stated that he would return to Nigeria during any national crisis, regardless of where he might be.
According to him, no part of the country should be surrendered to criminal groups, and protecting the nation must remain a top priority.
He recalled the role played by the Nigerian military in peacekeeping missions across different countries and said the country should work towards restoring that strength.
Obi added that rescuing citizens held captive by bandits, especially children, should take precedence over discussions about the next election cycle.
