No Schools Shutdown Under Adeleke – Government

The Osun State Government says no public school will shut down under Governor Ademola Adeleke, dismissing claims of collapse due to lack of teachers and facilities.

The assurance was given in Osogbo by the Teaching Service Commission chairman, Temitope Mustapha, during a workshop.

Officials said schools across urban and rural areas are being supported, not abandoned.

They described reports of failing schools as false, insisting students in remote areas are still performing well in key exams and helping improve the state’s national ranking.

The government said new teachers have been deployed to rural communities to close staffing gaps and boost learning.

Timetable officers were also directed to manage schedules properly, with teachers expected to handle full workloads to keep academic standards stable.

The response follows criticism from the opposition All Progressives Congress, which alleged poor funding and declining conditions in public schools.

The state, however, maintains that its education system remains active and stable.
