Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has repeated his claim that he won the 2023 presidential election, insisting the final result did not reflect the votes cast.

He spoke during a podcast interview where he maintained that the electoral process did not deliver the true outcome.

Obi said he believes his performance in the election showed clear victory, but the system produced a different result.

He added that the decision announced by the electoral body did not match what he saw from his campaign experience and supporters.

The 2023 election saw Obi emerge as a strong third-force candidate, drawing major support from young voters and urban areas.

His campaign gained wide attention through the “Obidient” movement, which mobilised large crowds across several states.

While official results declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu winner, Obi insisted he remains convinced the election outcome was different. He also suggested that he expects a different result in future elections, including 2027.
