Mimiko Resigns From PDP
Olusegun Mimiko has formally ended his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, bringing clarity to growing speculation about his political stance.
The former governor confirmed that his exit took effect on April 10, 2026, after years of reduced involvement in party affairs.
The decision was communicated in a letter sent to his ward leadership in Ondo West Local Government Area.
He explained that persistent questions about his status made it necessary to publicly state his position and remove any uncertainty surrounding his affiliation.
Mimiko noted that he had gradually stepped away from active participation in party activities, making his resignation a natural step.
His move comes after a long period of silence in frontline politics, where he has largely kept a low profile.
Despite leaving the party, he made it clear that his decision was not driven by conflict or grievances, maintaining a neutral tone as he formally closed this chapter of his political journey.
