Dokubo said his decision was rooted in gratitude, explaining that Tinubu stood by him during a difficult period in his life, a gesture he believes deserves loyalty in return.
He stated that he would deploy all lawful influence and capacity available to him to ensure Tinubu succeeds in the 2027 presidential election, adding that his journey from private life to traditional leadership made that support personal.
Wike, in his remarks, said the visit was part of his ongoing outreach to thank communities for past support and to explain the need to sustain backing for Tinubu beyond party boundaries.
He also described the visit as a courtesy call to greet the monarch for the new year, stressing respect for traditional institutions while building political consensus ahead of the next election cycle.
