The court acted after the National Working Committee of the NNPP announced the removal of the party’s state, local government, and ward executives across Kano.

Justice Nasiru Saminu, ruling on an ex parte application, declared the decision invalid and ordered the party’s national leadership to halt all actions affecting the party’s structure in the state.
The case was brought by Abdullahi Zubairu Imam and five others on behalf of NNPP executives from the 44 local government areas, who challenged their removal and asked the court for urgent protection.

The judge directed all parties to return to the position that existed before December 30, 2025, and warned the party against appointing caretaker committees or making new leadership changes in Kano.
The court also approved the service of court papers on the NNPP national secretariat in Abuja, while the case continues, keeping the existing party leadership in place for now.
