Where it happened was Abua Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State during Wike’s thank you visit on Thursday. When it happened followed Bala Mohammed’s comments earlier on Channels Television, where he accused Wike of fueling crises and recalled past threats.

Why Wike reacted was to dismiss claims that he was behind Bauchi’s problems. He said the governor should rely on the so-called powers he boasts of instead of shifting blame. Wike stressed that his issues with Mohammed were limited to party politics, not state affairs.
How Wike framed his argument was by pointing to past political disputes. He said Mohammed ignored warnings when he tried to impose party leadership in Rivers and is now facing the outcome, including struggles over succession in his state.

Wike also spoke on allegations surrounding Bauchi officials, saying he had no role in the EFCC’s actions. He urged the governor to clear his name and handle matters at home rather than dragging him into the controversy.
During the visit, local leaders and supporters in Abua Odual pledged full loyalty to Wike and President Bola Tinubu. They praised Wike’s record as former Rivers governor and vowed to stand with him in future political battles.
