In his Independence Day address marking Nigeria’s 65th anniversary, Tinubu described young people as the nation’s greatest assets and urged them to keep pursuing innovation across technology, science, sports, arts, and the creative sector. He stressed that his government would remain committed to creating an environment where young Nigerians can thrive.

The president pointed to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as a key intervention to support students in higher institutions. He revealed that 510,000 students from 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory have so far benefited from the scheme, which covers 228 institutions.
