The Embassy of Qatar in Nigeria has dismissed claims that the country has introduced tougher visa restrictions on Nigerian travelers.
The clarification followed viral online reports suggesting that Nigerians would now face stricter requirements, including proof of return transfers, hotel bookings, restrictions on single male applicants, and compulsory stays in five-star hotels.
An embassy official explained that there has been no suspension or change to existing visa procedures. The mission stressed that the reports making rounds online were false and misleading.
The embassy advised Nigerians to rely only on official information released through its verified channels when making travel plans, assuring that visa processing remains unchanged.
The denial comes as many Nigerians continue to explore Qatar for tourism, business, and transit travel, especially with the country positioning itself as a major hub in the Gulf region.
