The by-election was conducted peacefully across the constituency, but the turnout of voters was low compared to expectations. Reports from polling units showed apathy among residents, with many eligible voters staying away from the process.

Despite the low participation, INEC confirmed that the poll met the required guidelines, paving the way for Yakubu’s declaration as the duly elected representative of Okura II in the Kogi State House of Assembly. The outcome strengthens APC’s control in the state as the party prepares for future contests.
