Tinubu Support Group Targets One Million Votes in Ondo for 2027

A pro-Tinubu political group, the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), has vowed to deliver over one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in Ondo State during the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at a strategy meeting held in Akure on Wednesday, AMG’s Director-General, Muyiwa Asagunla, said the group has been mobilising voters across the state’s 18 local government areas. He claimed the group’s structure and grassroots support are strong enough to secure more than 90 percent of the total votes cast in the state.

Asagunla explained that the group was set up to attract both APC loyalists and opposition politicians in Ondo State. He said many from other parties were already aligning with the group’s mission.

“When you benefit from a system, it’s only right to bring others in,” he said. “With support from the Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, we are pushing to ensure Ondo people benefit significantly from the Federal Government.”

He also highlighted recent job placements of Ondo residents in federal services like the Fire Service, Immigration, and Civil Defence as proof of Tinubu’s positive impact.

According to him, AMG has grown from just 26 founding members in 2004 to over 9,000 members today, with a clear mission to deliver at least half of the state’s two million registered voters in Tinubu’s favour come 2027.

Also present at the meeting was Otito Atikase, Ondo’s representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), who reaffirmed the group’s commitment to securing a landslide for Tinubu in the state.

“We are working to beat our past record. This requires strategy and consistent engagement. Soon, people will see the results of our mobilisation across Ondo,” Atikase said.

He praised President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that civil servants are now paid regularly and strikes have reduced. He also pointed to infrastructure developments like the Lagos-Calabar highway and the ongoing dualisation of the Ore-Ondo road, which he said are boosting the economy and saving lives.

The group says it will continue engaging residents and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
