The meeting came shortly after Adeleke visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he also presented his Certificate of Return.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Adeleke the winner of the Osun governorship election after he secured 511,067 votes across the state.

His closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, recorded 444,815 votes.

Adeleke won in 19 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas, giving him the majority needed to retain his position as governor.

His post-election visits to Tinubu and Wike have attracted attention amid renewed political discussions following the Osun poll and ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting with Wike also comes against the backdrop of the FCT minister’s earlier comments on the Osun election, during which he praised the electoral process and argued that the outcome showed the Federal Government had not interfered with the poll.

Adeleke is expected to return to Osun to continue preparations for his second term after completing his post-election engagements in Abuja.
