The new scheme will provide treated water to Karu, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo and nearby communities.

Tinubu said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to extending development beyond Abuja city centre and improving living conditions in underserved areas.

The water network covers more than 194 kilometres of pipelines and was completed ahead of schedule after the Federal Government released funds promptly.

The President said the intervention would improve sanitation, public health and economic activities across the benefiting communities.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike described the project as a response to the administration’s goal of taking infrastructure to neglected areas.

Residents were urged to protect the facilities as the government continues efforts to improve services in satellite towns.
