EFCC Tracks Luxury Cars To Fraud

A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Monday ordered the temporary seizure of two luxury vehicles linked to suspected cybercrime.

Justice Alexander Owoeye approved the request after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission filed a case against Christopher Chikudozie Ubammadu and James Femi Joshua over alleged internet fraud.

The ruling followed an application backed by evidence from an EFCC investigator, who said the cars were traced to suspected illegal activities.

The vehicles, both grey Lexus ES 350 models with different registration numbers, were recovered during an operation carried out in the Apapa area earlier this year.

Investigators told the court that the cars were found during a raid on January 29, 2026, after intelligence reports pointed to fraud activities in the area.

Since their recovery, no one has stepped forward to claim ownership, raising further doubts about how they were obtained.

After reviewing the case, the court granted interim forfeiture and ordered the EFCC to publish the notice publicly.

Any interested person has 14 days to appear and explain why the vehicles should not be permanently taken over by the Federal Government.
