TCN Shuts Down Power To Ibadan Communities
Parts of Ibadan in Oyo State will face a temporary power cut on Tuesday as the Transmission Company of Nigeria shuts down a major transformer for maintenance.
The planned outage affects areas served from the Ayede Transmission Substation and is scheduled to last from morning to evening.
The decision was announced by the company’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, who said the exercise is part of routine checks to keep equipment in good working condition.
Engineers will carry out preventive work on a 100MVA 132/33kV transformer during the shutdown.
Due to the maintenance, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company will not be able to supply power to customers in the Express, Industrial, and Oluyole areas within the stated hours.
Residents and businesses in these locations are expected to experience a full-day disruption.
The company said the move is necessary to ensure stable electricity supply in the long run and expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to affected consumers.
